Maria has been in the fitness industry for 16 years. It began as a fitness instructor then shortly after accepting a position as a group fitness coordinator. Having been exposed to a Pilates in house training she quickly adapted to the method. She holds certifications as a primary group fitness instructor through AFAA as well as a Mad Dogg Athletics Spinning. She is a fully certified Stott Pilates instructor and considers this to be her most valuable education. The training provided through Stott has given her the knowledge to further pursue a career solely focused on Pilates. Through the intensive training and hours teaching she’s learned how to guide clients to move biomechanically correct while staying true to the dignity of Joseph Pilates original principles. She discovered its rehabilitative approach of Pilates and belief it can preserve the body long term. In 2011 she left the gym industry to open a small boutique studio offering Pilates apparatus classes. She worked with different people ranging from athletes, special populations to pre-natal. Having had the studio for 7 years she deems this as valuable experience money can’t buy.
